"Medley is your front porch, your gathering space and your Third Place," Mark Toro, founder of Toro Development Company, said when the developer announced the grand opening of its $560 million, 43-acre district in Johns Creek. A porch gets built one board at a time, and Medley's own schedule follows that pattern. The ribbon cutting is Thursday, Oct. 29. The grocery store opened in June. Several of the restaurants on the announced tenant list will open "in the coming months." The skating rink stays open into February.
For anyone driving over from The River Club, that changes how to plan a visit. Oct. 29 is one entry on a longer list, and the right night depends on which version of Medley you want to see.
The First Tenant Is Already Open
Medley sits at Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. Its FAQ gives the address as 11650 Johns Creek Parkway, and the grand-opening page lists 2140 Medley Boulevard. Trader Joe's opened at 1000 Medley Blvd. on Thursday, June 11. It is the chain's first Johns Creek store and its 11th in Georgia, and it's open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. North Atlanta Star noted at the time that Johns Creek shoppers had relied on stores in Roswell, Sandy Springs and Buckhead.
That four-month head start makes a weekday grocery run the easiest way to learn the parking layout and the route before opening week brings bigger crowds.
What Opens on October 29
The developer's release lists 27 tenants opening Oct. 29, which brings the count to 28 with Trader Joe's. Grouped by what you would go for, the list looks like this:
- Sit-down and casual dining: Rena's Italian Fishery & Grill, 26 Thai Kitchen, Shake Shack, STIR, Tonic House, Lily Sushi Bar, The Nest Cafe, Knuckies Eatery and Minnie Olivia Pizzeria
- Coffee, wine and sweets: Summit Coffee, CRÚ Wine Bar & Bistro, Five Daughters Bakery, Playa Bowls, Cookie Fix and Amorino Gelato
- Shopping and services: Sephora, High Country Outfitters, Moop's Boutique, Drybar, Kontour Med Spa, BODYROK, Clean Your Dirty Face and Petfolk
- Also on the opening-day list: The Commodore, Sugarcoat, Hollow Oak and Burdlife
That's enough for a full evening: dinner at Rena's or Lily Sushi Bar, a glass at CRÚ, then gelato at Amorino on the walk back to the car. Treat it as the developer's announced plan, though. The release published Sept. 29 is the source for this list, and a restaurant's first service can move by a few days.
What the Same List Holds Back
The release also names seven tenants that open after the celebration: 13 Hub Lane, Fadó Irish Pub, CT Taqueria, Warby Parker, Northern China Eatery, Fogón and Lions, and Tabla. Five of those seven are food and drink. Anyone who plans an opening-week dinner around Fadó or Tabla will find those spaces still closed.
Further out is Encore, Medley's second phase. It adds 408 apartments, 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and a 150-key Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel anchored by Chops Lobster Bar. The Johns Creek Town Center site says Encore will open in 2027 and the hotel in 2028.
Three Opening Days, Three Different Evenings
Medley spreads the grand opening across Wednesday through Friday, and each day is a different kind of event.
| Day | Event | Hours | Admission | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wed., Oct. 28 | Medley Unveiled | 6 to 10 p.m. | Ticketed, benefits the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra | Restaurant tastings, cocktails, a string quartet, a violinist at the Tree Bar, dueling pianos, complimentary valet |
| Thu., Oct. 29 | Ribbon cutting in The Plaza | 10 a.m. | Free | Official public opening with community leaders and "special surprise moments" |
| Fri., Oct. 30 | Party on The Plaza | 6 to 10 p.m. | Free | Family Halloween night, live music, activities for all ages, costumes encouraged |
Wednesday is the only night when guests sample the restaurants before the public opening, and it's the only night with free valet. The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra gets the proceeds. The Thursday ceremony is at 10 a.m., which suits anyone with a free weekday morning. Friday falls the night before Halloween and is billed as family-friendly, so expect the biggest crowd of the three.
Getting There From Moore Road
The River Club's entrance is on Moore Road, 1.2 miles in from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. North Atlanta Star's directions say drivers can reach Medley from McGinnis Ferry Road or Johns Creek Parkway and then follow Medley Boulevard into the retail area. The paper calls McGinnis Ferry the simplest approach for many visitors coming from Suwanee.
McGinnis Ferry Road has construction on it. Johns Creek is widening the road from two lanes to four between Sargent Road and Douglas Road and replacing the bridge over Caney Creek. The city's Aug. 28, 2026 update describes drainage, culvert, retaining-wall and utility work, with completion expected in spring 2028. That work will outlast Medley's first winter, so check the city's project-progress page before a Friday-night trip.
Once you arrive, the parking options are:
- Self-parking in a deck and surface lots on the north side of the property.
- Valet on Medley Boulevard near Concierge, $12 per car.
The Route That Skips the Deck
You can also park at Johns Creek City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive, and walk in on The Boardwalk at Town Center. It's a 15-foot-wide trail that runs about a mile north from Johns Creek Parkway to McGinnis Ferry Road, past a pond and wetland. The Medlock Bridge Road pedestrian tunnel, just north of Johns Creek Parkway, opened in August. The city says it links nearby neighborhoods, restaurants, retail, The Boardwalk and Town Center for people on foot or bike.
Medley and the tunnel opened within the same three months, so 2026 is the first fall you can walk into a new Johns Creek dining district on a trail instead of crossing a road. On the Oct. 30 party night, City Hall parking means a mile on foot and avoids the deck queue when the party ends at 10.
Where the Calendar Goes After October
The opening celebration is the start of Medley's event schedule. The developer plans about 100 events a year. Two are already on the calendar:
- Skate the Plaza, an outdoor ice rink in The Plaza, open Nov. 23, 2026, through Feb. 7, 2027
- Merry Medley, on Nov. 27, 2026, with a holiday concert, performances and fireworks
The rink season lasts 11 weeks, much longer than the three-day opening. By the time it closes in February, some of the later-wave restaurants such as Fadó Irish Pub, CT Taqueria or Fogón and Lions may be open. The developer has said they will follow "in the coming months" but has not given dates. For River Club residents, a skating evening in December or January may show a more complete Medley than opening week does.
Medley's arrival on the Johns Creek side of the river is one of the biggest changes to everyday life near The River Club this year, and the team at Floyd Real Estate Group follows these openings as closely as the neighborhood's sales.
